Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a PACU nurse for a 90-week contract to join the post-operative recovery team. You'll care for patients emerging from anesthesia and monitor their immediate post-operative progression in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
Shift Details
- Schedule: 3 × 12-hour PM shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- On-call: 2 weeknights per month (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Weekend commitment: 1 × 12-hour PM shift monthly
Requirements
- Minimum 18 months of PACU experience required
- Current Georgia or compact nursing license in hand
- BLS certification (standard requirement)
What You'll Do
Monitor vital signs and neurological status, manage pain and nausea, assess surgical sites, and facilitate safe transitions to the inpatient unit or discharge. You'll work with anesthesia teams and surgeons to ensure smooth recoveries and respond quickly to post-operative complications.
