Operating Room Nurse

Location: Canton, MS

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: September 21, 2026

Shift & Schedule

• 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Choose 5×8 or 4×10 hour days
• Call: 2 weekdays per week + 1 weekend per month

About the Role

You'll work in a busy OR managing 15–22 cases daily across four operating rooms and one procedure room. The surgical mix includes general surgery, orthopedic fractures and arthroscopic scopes, plastics, GI, urology, pediatric dental, and surgical oncology. This is a fast-paced environment where you'll develop broad surgical experience and refine your skills across diverse case types.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years OR nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA)
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions with documented healthcare provider evidence only)
• Fingerprint clearance (remote or in-person options available)

Orientation

One week of on-unit training combined with Healthstream virtual education to get you comfortable with the facility's systems and workflow.

What You'll Need to Know

• 40 guaranteed hours per week
• No floating to other units
• Circulating and scrubbing not both required
