CVICU Travel Nurse — Nashville, TN

13-Week Contract | Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

This cardiovascular ICU specializes in high-acuity post-operative cardiac surgery care, supporting a high-volume surgical program with intensivist coverage around the clock. The unit is a well-established, team-driven environment recognized for clinical excellence.

Clinical Scope

• Immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients
• Advanced device management including ECMO, Centrimag, and LVAD (HM3)
• PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring
• Central line insertion, Swan-Ganz insertion, and intubation performed on unit
• Experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT preferred

Unit Support

• Free-floating charge nurse available to assist staff
• Unit secretary and administrative care tech on-site weekdays
• Student nurse externs assist with tech duties on variable shifts

Schedule & Requirements

• 36 guaranteed hours/week
• 2 weekends per month required
• Holiday commitments: 1 summer holiday, 2 winter holidays

Floating

• Float as needed, primarily to other ICUs; other floors possible

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS

Experience Requirements

• Strong critical care background with CVICU experience required
• PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring skills required
• IABP, Impella, and CRRT experience preferred

Dress Code

• Scrubs in black, red, or galaxy blue; scrub jackets or vests only
