Med/Surg Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Wilmington, NC

This Med/Surg Telemetry unit in Wilmington, NC is seeking an experienced travel nurse for a night shift contract. The unit manages a diverse adult and geriatric population with diagnoses including diabetes, dementia, ia, COPD, sepsis, GI bleed, CHF, renal failure, encephalopathy, and a variety of post-surgical recovery cases.

Contract Details

• Shift: Nights, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (3x12)
• Contract length: 13–20 weeks; 36 or 48 hours/week accepted
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Scheduling: Self-scheduling
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Float requirement: May be required to float to a nearby campus
• RTO: Up to 7 days per contract; must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• No call requirement
• Please note: Contract staff may be assigned to a Storm or Hurricane Team and expected to report during declared emergency events

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or MS/Tele experience
• Active RN license (NC or Compact; pending accepted at submission)
• BLS and NIHSS certifications
• Must pass EKG competency prior to start
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Required Skills Include

• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring
• Pre/post hemodialysis, renal failure management
• Blood product administration, PICC/central line care, phlebotomy
• BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, wound care/wound vac
• Colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, chest tube management

Preferred

• ACLS certification
• Charge nurse experience
• Post-surgical care: cardiac, angiogram, thoracic
• Tracheostomy care, IV insulin protocols, ABG interpretation

Scrubs: Navy blue or white
