NICU Nurse – Night Shift
Position Overview
Join the NICU team on a 13-week night shift assignment. You'll provide skilled, compassionate care to neonates in a Level II NICU setting, working 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM).
Clinical Scope
This role focuses on managing neonates 32 weeks gestation and above, including:
- High-risk delivery attendance and support
- Breastfeeding support and education
- Ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
- UAC/UVC line placement and management
- High-flow CPAP care
- Stabilization and preparation of infants for transfer to higher levels of care
You'll collaborate with respiratory therapy, physical therapy, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams to deliver comprehensive neonatal care.
Requirements
- Current RN license (compact license acceptable)
- Minimum 1 year neonatal nursing experience
- BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications
- Experience with neonates 29–34 weeks and >34 weeks
- Charge experience preferred
Assignment Details
- Patient ratio: 2 patients per nurse (days, nights, and weekends)
- Daily census: 4 patients
- 24 hours of orientation provided
- Self-scheduling; pre-approved time off available
- Floating to nearby sister facilities may be required
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
