Medical-Surgical RN — Kansas City, Missouri

This Med-Surg travel assignment is based on a busy general medical-surgical unit in Kansas City, MO. The unit cares for a diverse adult patient population, including post-operative patients and those requiring complex nursing interventions.

Shift & Schedule

• Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• 3 weekend shifts required within every 4-week scheduling period
• Guaranteed 48 hours per contract period

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start date: August 31, 2026

Clinical Scope

Procedures performed on the unit include:

• IV insertion and management
• Foley and external urinary catheter care
• Wound care and wound vac management
• Post-operative care
• Tracheostomy care
• Nasogastric tube and feeding tube management

Unit Support

The unit is supported by a unit secretary and patient care technicians on both day and night shifts. Patient experience expectations include AIDET communication, bedside shift report, and hourly rounding.

Requirements

• Active Missouri RN license
• Current BLS certification
• Prior Med-Surg experience required

Floating

Float policy follows standard facility guidelines.

Dress Code

Navy blue scrub top; navy or black scrub pants. Undershirts and scrub jackets (if worn) must be navy, white, or black. No sweatshirts or track jackets.
