Surgical Trauma ICU — Travel RN | Asheville, NC

Night Shift | 13-Week Contract

This Surgical Trauma ICU (STICU) position supports a high-acuity unit managing complex surgical and trauma patients. The unit operates at an intensive level of care, and travelers are expected to bring strong critical care fundamentals and procedural comfort from day one.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week scheduling cycle
• Modified self-scheduling

Clinical Scope

Procedures performed on this unit include intubation and extubation, chest tube and central line placement, arterial line placement, bronchoscopy, endoscopy, proning, TPA administration, hypertonic medication administration, tracheostomy placement, EVD/bolt placement, CRRT/HD, irrigation and debridement, and minor surgical procedures.

Float Requirements

Travelers float ahead of core staff and may be assigned to other ICU settings or step-down as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (NC or compact)
• Active ACLS and BLS
• Trauma ICU experience from a Level I or Level II Trauma Center (required)
• Surgical ICU experience (required)
• LTAC experience is not considered in lieu of acute ICU background
