Interventional Radiology / Cardiac Catheterization Lab Nurse
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced IR/Cath Lab nurse for a 16-week day shift assignment. You'll work in a busy interventional suite managing complex cardiac and vascular cases with high-acuity patient populations.
Shift & Schedule
- Days: 4x10 hours (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
- Start: ASAP
- Weekend requirement: 4 shifts per contract
- On-call: Rotation-based; 30-minute response time. Expect approximately 10 call shifts per 6-week period, including one weekend call shift.
- Floating: No float required between units.
- Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (IR experience a plus)
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certification
- Valid compact state license required at submission
- Two professional references (covering 1 year within the last 3 years)
Clinical Scope
You'll care for adult and geriatric patients with ST/non-ST elevation MI, arrhythmias (including complete heart block and SVTs), embolic/hemorrhagic stroke, cardiomyopathy, and peripheral vascular disease. Daily census ranges from 3 scheduled cases to 9+ cases including emergency cases.
Procedures include: Left and right heart catheterization, coronary angiography, stroke embolization, PTCA, angioplasty, IABP placement, electrophysiology studies and ablations, visceral angioplasty, and intravascular ultrasound.
Medications & Skills: You'll manage nitrates, vasopressors, thrombolytics, procedural sedation, hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and dysrhythmia interpretation.
Scrubs: Navy blue (L&D/OR/Cath Lab provided)
