Emergency Department Nurse – Travel Position
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Emergency Department nurse for a 16-week travel contract. You'll work a mid shift (14:00–02:30) in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment serving a diverse patient population across all age groups.
Unit Details
This emergency department manages approximately 185 patients daily across 29 treatment rooms. You'll care for adults, pediatrics, geriatrics, and neonates with diagnoses ranging from trauma and stroke to sepsis and critical care needs. The unit handles procedures including arterial line management, procedural sedation, central line care, and ICP monitoring. A robust interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, IV teams, rapid response, pharmacy, and social services supports clinical care.
Requirements
- 2+ years of nursing experience required
- Current compact state license (must be in hand at submission)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Prior emergency department or trauma experience preferred
- First-time travelers welcome
Schedule & Expectations
- Mid shift: 14:00–02:30, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Every other weekend required (6–8 shifts over contract)
- Floating to pediatric units as needed, with support provided
- Wear scrubs of any color
- 12-hour orientation included
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
