Progressive Care Unit (PCU) — Night Shift | Hermitage, TN

13-Week Contract | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

This PCU opportunity places you in a high-functioning, team-oriented environment caring for patients across a range of intermediate acuity needs. The unit manages complex cardiac, stroke, and post-procedural patients, with a strong culture of collaboration and traveler retention — most travelers choose to extend after their first assignment.

Clinical Scope & Procedures

• Cardiac, heparin, and insulin drip management; EKG rhythm interpretation
• BiPAP and high-flow oxygen therapy across multiple delivery systems
• Stroke and post-cardiac catheterization care
• Peritoneal dialysis (preferred experience), tube feedings, NG/Dobhoff tube insertion
• Thoracentesis, paracentesis, and chest tube insertion support
• Central line dressing changes and wound vac troubleshooting

Schedule & Float Requirements

• Three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Self-scheduling on 4-week cycles
• May float between PCU units or to med-surg floors

Certifications Required

• BLS, ACLS

Required Skills

• Strong critical thinking and EKG rhythm interpretation
• Experience with cardiac, heparin, and insulin drips
• Peripheral IV proficiency; peritoneal dialysis experience preferred

• Tech support available on unit
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
