Night Shift | 13-Week Contract

This Post-Op Med/Surg unit in Nashville, TN is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a 13-week night shift contract beginning October 12, 2026.

Schedule

• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 3 shifts per week (36 guaranteed hours)
• 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule

Unit Overview

This post-operative unit manages surgical patients requiring close monitoring and hands-on clinical care. Nurses are expected to prioritize effectively, multitask, and deliver compassionate, patient- and family-centered care including bedside shift report and shared care planning.

Clinical Skills Required

• IV insertion
• Basic wound care
• Maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Telemetry monitoring

Support Staff

Tech support is available on both day and night shifts; unit secretary coverage runs 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM.

Float Policy

Contract staff float first; rotation applies when multiple contract clinicians are scheduled.

Requirements

• Active RN license
• BLS certification
• Med/Surg experience required

Dress Code

Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms)
