Post-Op Med/Surg RN – Nashville, TN

Night Shift | 13-Week Contract

This Post-Operative Med/Surg unit in Nashville, TN is seeking an experienced RN for nights. The unit manages a diverse post-surgical patient population requiring attentive, high-quality nursing care.

Shift & Schedule

• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 3 shifts per week (12-hour shifts)
• 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week

Clinical Scope

• Post-operative and medical/surgical patients
• Skills required: IV insertion, basic wound care, and management of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Ability to prioritize care, multitask, and adapt to a dynamic patient census

Unit Support

• Tech support available on both day and night shifts
• Unit secretary on days (7 AM – 7 PM)
• Bedside shift report expected; patient- and family-centered care approach

Float Policy

• Contract staff float first; rotation used when multiple contract staff are scheduled

Requirements

• Active RN license (Tennessee or compact)
• BLS certification
• Med/Surg experience required

Dress Code

• Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms)
