Med/Surg RN – Neuro Med/Surg Unit | Nashville, TN | Night Shift

This 13-week travel contract places you on a Neuro Med/Surg unit in Nashville, TN, working night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), three 12-hour shifts per week with guaranteed 36 hours.

Unit Overview

The unit focuses on neurological and general medical/surgical patients requiring attentive, high-acuity nursing care. Bedside shift report is standard practice, with an emphasis on involving patients and families in the plan of care. Tech support is available on both day and night shifts; unit secretary coverage runs 7a–7p.

Schedule & Float

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 3 shifts/week; 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
• Contract staff float first, by rotation when multiple travelers are scheduled

Clinical Skills Required

• Med/Surg experience with ability to prioritize and multitask
• IV insertion, basic wound care
• Maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Telemetry monitoring and use of standard unit equipment

Requirements

• Active RN license (Tennessee or compact)
• BLS certification

Dress Code

Navy scrubs, tops and bottoms
