Travel RN – Pediatric Step-Down | Denver, CO

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Contract: 13 Weeks | Guaranteed Hours: 36/week

This pediatric step-down unit provides mixed-acuity care for children recovering from complex conditions including spinal fusions, chest tube management, and high-flow oxygen therapy. The unit does not manage CPAP, BiPAP, trach, or ventilated patients — those patients are transferred to the PICU.

Typical procedures include:

• Nasogastric tubes, Foley catheters, TP tubes, peripheral IVs, and phlebotomy
• Occasional lumbar punctures

Shift structure:

• Day shift includes a patient-free charge nurse and 1–3 PCTs
• A Clinical Nurse Coordinator is available as an additional resource most days
• First-contract travelers are placed on night shift; experienced travelers with multiple contracts are given scheduling priority

On-site parking is available free of charge, with direct building access to the unit.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of current pediatric RN experience
• BLS and NRP (required)
• Comfort with high-flow oxygen, spinal fusion care, and chest tubes
• Prior pediatric step-down experience strongly preferred
