RN – Float Pool (Med/Surg, Telemetry & Multi-Specialty)
About the Role
You'll work as a float pool RN, providing care across multiple inpatient units. Your assignments will include medical/surgical, telemetry, geriatric, adult, and psychiatric patients. You may also float to the emergency department (when boarding patients) or critical care units if you have ICU/CCU experience.
Schedule & Hours
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Hours: 36 hours/week (with overtime opportunities)
- Weekends: Every other weekend rotation
- Holidays: Every other holiday rotation required
- On-Call: May be placed on call during low census; must respond within one hour if called in
Clinical Details
- Scope of practice: Assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation in coordination with the health care team
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license
- ACLS certification
- Experience with the facility's EMR system within the last 12 months
- Dysrhythmia competency: You will self-study telemetry strips upon acceptance and complete a Basic Dysrhythmia test-out during orientation (must pass)
Campuses
You may float to units at the West Burlington campus and occasionally to Fort Madison or Henry County campuses.
