Pediatric Float ICU – Registered Nurse

Atlanta, GA | Nights | 13-Week Contract

This position supports a multi-campus pediatric float pool, requiring nurses to rotate between two campuses and cover a broad range of intensive care and specialty units. This is a high-acuity role best suited for experienced pediatric critical care nurses comfortable working across diverse ICU environments.

Shift Details

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekend block schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Missed shifts must be made up

Clinical Scope

• Float coverage across multiple ICU settings including cardiac, neonatal, pediatric, and transitional intensive care units, as well as general care and specialty areas
• Manages a patient assignment of 2–3 patients per nurse
• High-acuity pediatric population across age ranges and diagnoses

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in CICU and NICU, plus PICU experience
• Active Georgia RN license or compact state license
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Flu vaccine required — no exceptions; exemptions are not permitted
• Nicotine-free facility; mandatory drug screening includes nicotine testing

This role demands strong clinical versatility and the ability to adapt quickly across multiple units and care settings. Candidates must be comfortable with multi-campus float assignments and weekend-only scheduling.
