Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Endoscopy RN for a 13-week contract in Asheville, NC. You'll work in a busy endoscopy unit performing a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for both adult and pediatric patients.
Schedule & Call Requirements
- Four 9-hour shifts per week, Monday–Friday (shift times vary by assignment: pre-op, PACU, or procedure room)
- One overnight call shift per week (ends at 7 am)
- Two 24-hour weekend call shifts during the 6-week scheduling period
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- No block scheduling
Clinical Scope
The unit operates 4 procedure rooms with 8 pre-op beds and 6 PACU beds. You'll assist with or lead:
- Adult procedures: EGD, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, EUS, ERCP, EBUS, bronchoscopy, ION navigational bronchoscopy, stent placements, PEG placement, tracheostomy placement, pulmonary cryo therapy, capsule endoscopy, and foreign body removal
- Pediatric procedures: EGD, sigmoidoscopy, and colonoscopy (ages 1–18)
Requirements
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS current
- Active NC or Compact State RN license
- Prior endoscopy experience required
- Pediatric and/or pulmonary endoscopy experience preferred
Unit Details
- Green or navy blue surgical scrubs
- Staffing ranges 12–16 per day based on case volume
- No mandatory float; volunteering accepted
