Medical-Surgical RN — 12-Hour Nights | Bridgeport, WV
Contract Details
- Duration: 13 weeks (with potential extension)
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Start Date: September 19, 2026
Unit Overview
This acute care med-surg unit manages a diverse patient population including CHF, chest pain, post-cardiac cath, ia, COPD, chronic renal disease, orthopedic, and oncology patients. Permanent staff administer chemotherapy; travelers will not be assigned chemo duties. Telemetry monitoring is in place, and RNs must be able to read and interpret cardiac strips. Respiratory therapy is available in-house 24/7 and manages CPAP/BiPAP; RNs perform aerosols for non-vented patients and EKGs.
Scheduling & Support
- Every-other-weekend requirement (Saturday & Sunday)
- Holiday rotation shared with permanent staff
- Night charge nurse takes a patient assignment
- CNAs support all units
- IV team available until 10:00 PM weekdays and 3:30 PM weekends
- In-house pharmacy available 24/7
- Floor-specific orientation: 1–2 shifts with a preceptor
Requirements
- Active RN license
- BLS certification
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
- Must reside or commit to within 50 miles of the facility
- No artificial nails
- Scrub color: Royal Blue

This is a traveler-friendly unit. The manager is open to scheduling requests and will make reasonable efforts to accommodate block scheduling when possible.
