Orthopedic RN – Travel Contract | Greensboro, NC

Shift: Days, 3×12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM), every other weekend

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: October 12, 2026

This orthopedic unit specializes in pre-operative and post-operative care for both elective and trauma patients across adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. Common diagnoses and procedures include total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements and repairs, as well as orthopedic trauma.

Clinical Scope & Skills:

• Pre/post-op orthopedic care; elective and trauma patient management
• Total joint replacement, peripheral nerve block catheter management, surgical drains, wound care/wound vac
• Telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, blood product administration
• Safe patient handling equipment and orthopedic-specific equipment (CPM, knee immobilizer, bone foam, and others)
• Rapid Response Team utilization

Schedule Details:

• Every other weekend required
• One holiday shift and one evening shift required during the holiday period
• No on-call required
• Floating to other facility campuses may be required

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; orthopedic and trauma experience required
• Prior travel experience required — no first-time travelers
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Electronic health record experience required
• Active RN license must be in hand at time of submission
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (two attempts allowed)
• No local candidates within 50 miles
• Pre-approved time off must be submitted with application; no post-submission requests accepted
• COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
