Med/Surg RN – Observation Unit
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced Med/Surg RN for its Inpatient Observation Unit, a fast-paced environment adjacent to the Emergency Department. You'll care for patients across a range of acuity levels, including medical admissions, trauma overflow, and observation holds.
Shift & Schedule
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
- Hours: 38 or 48 hours per week
- Contract duration: 8 or 13 weeks
- Holidays: Expected to work
Clinical Scope
This is a dynamic unit where acuity and patient needs vary throughout your shift. You'll manage direct patient care, collaborate with ED and inpatient teams, and float to other acute care areas as needed based on your competency and facility census.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years acute care RN experience in a related specialty
- Current licenses & certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (required); TNCC (preferred)
- Valid RN license in Georgia
What You'll Need
Be prepared to provide a current photo ID for badge processing. This role demands flexibility, strong communication, and the ability to prioritize in a variable-acuity environment.
