Labor and Delivery Nurse – 12-Hour Nights
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery nurse for a 13-week assignment on a high-risk obstetric unit. You'll provide comprehensive couplet care in a fast-paced environment with approximately 140–165 births monthly.
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Every other weekend rotation
- First to float to other facility locations
- 30-minute on-call response time if needed
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week
- Scrubs provided
Clinical Scope
- Manage labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum (LDRP) care
- Circulate cesarean sections in the 2 on-unit OR suites
- Float to maternity/birthing units as assigned
- Titrate medications, including Pitocin
- Read and interpret EKG strips for mothers in PACU
- Common patient conditions: preterm labor, bleeding, inductions, hypertension
Staffing & Support
- OB surgical techs on unit
- OB hospitalist in-house 24/7; neonatologist on call and rounds daily
- Anesthesia in-house 24/7
Required Credentials
- Current RN license
- BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN-Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications
- STABLE certification preferred
- Two professional references (one within 12 months, one within 3 years of current employment)
