Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical

Location: Susanville, CA

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: October 26, 2026

About the Role

The facility is seeking an experienced RN to join the medical-surgical unit, providing comprehensive care to adult patients with a diverse range of medical and surgical diagnoses. You'll manage patients across varying acuity levels, from chronic disease management to acute post-operative care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients, responding promptly to changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
• Coordinate care for patients with cardiac, respiratory, and metabolic conditions
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and the care team on discharge planning
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic health record
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention standards

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and PALS preferred
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted
• Minimum 1 year of medical-surgical nursing experience
• CMSRN certification preferred
• Ability to manage a diverse patient caseload with varying acuity
