Travel RN – Med/Surg | Critical Access Hospital | Saint Johnsbury, VT

This 13-week assignment places you in a rural critical access hospital serving Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. You'll practice across a broad clinical scope — medical, surgical, observation, swing bed, and outpatient care — with occasional pediatric admissions. This is primarily an adult unit; candidates with pediatric-only backgrounds will not be considered.

Shift Details

  • Flex day/night rotation | 12-hour shifts
  • 7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
  • Start date: October 28, 2026 (Wednesday start)
  • 36 hours guaranteed during orientation week due to mid-week start

Clinical Scope

  • Diverse adult Med/Surg patient population across the lifespan
  • Opportunity to serve as Charge RN or Preceptor as needed
  • Practice at the top of your license with strong clinical autonomy
  • Collaborative interdisciplinary team environment

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of recent acute care RN experience
  • Charge RN experience preferred
  • Vermont RN license or Compact Multi-State RN license
  • BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association) required
  • Flu vaccination required — no exceptions
  • All credentials must be submitted at least 5 business days before start

Logistics

  • Personal vehicle required; no public transportation or ride-share services available
  • Nearest major airport is approximately two hours away
  • Housing is the traveler's responsibility; local housing resources available upon request
