Travel RN – Med/Surg | Critical Access Hospital | Saint Johnsbury, VT
This 13-week assignment places you in a rural critical access hospital serving Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. You'll practice across a broad clinical scope — medical, surgical, observation, swing bed, and outpatient care — with occasional pediatric admissions. This is primarily an adult unit; candidates with pediatric-only backgrounds will not be considered.
Shift Details
- Flex day/night rotation | 12-hour shifts
- 7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
- Start date: October 28, 2026 (Wednesday start)
- 36 hours guaranteed during orientation week due to mid-week start
Clinical Scope
- Diverse adult Med/Surg patient population across the lifespan
- Opportunity to serve as Charge RN or Preceptor as needed
- Practice at the top of your license with strong clinical autonomy
- Collaborative interdisciplinary team environment
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of recent acute care RN experience
- Charge RN experience preferred
- Vermont RN license or Compact Multi-State RN license
- BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association) required
- Flu vaccination required — no exceptions
- All credentials must be submitted at least 5 business days before start
Logistics
- Personal vehicle required; no public transportation or ride-share services available
- Nearest major airport is approximately two hours away
- Housing is the traveler's responsibility; local housing resources available upon request
