Telemetry / Med-Surg RN — Night Shift | Los Angeles, CA

26-Week Contract | Start Date: November 2, 2026

This night-shift position supports a busy telemetry and medical-surgical unit caring for a diverse patient population ranging from adolescents through geriatrics. The unit manages general med-surg patients alongside a moderate volume of orthopedic surgical cases, including total joint replacements, as well as simple gynecologic procedures such as hysterectomies and myomectomies.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3x12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirement
• Float between Med-Surg and Telemetry required

Clinical Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of RN experience; minimum 2 years in Telemetry
• Total joint orthopedic experience required
• Ventilator experience required (hard requirement)
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips
• Telemetry monitoring (unit and remote) and dysrhythmia management

Key Clinical Skills

• Cardiac: post-angiogram, post-MI, pre/post cardiac cath and cardiac surgery care
• Vascular access: central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, IV starts
• Respiratory: tracheostomy care, chest tube management, CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, non-invasive airway management
• Medication management: heparin protocols, cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
• Additional: wound care/wound vac, surgical drains, feeding tube management, CBI, groin management

Certifications Required

• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Pre-Start Testing

• Advanced EKG exam (80% minimum; two attempts permitted)
• Onsite EKG competency assessment required

Additional Details

• Active California RN license required at submission
