Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (nights)
Location: Tomball, TX
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: Rotating weekends; no on-call requirement
About the Role
Join the labor and delivery unit at the facility as part of a cohesive nursing team. You'll care for laboring patients and support vaginal and cesarean deliveries in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
What You'll Do
- Perform cervical checks, labor assessments, and medication management (oxytocin, magnesium)
- Manage fetal monitoring and respond to maternal and fetal changes
- Support pre-op and post-anesthesia care
- Act as OR circulator during cesarean sections
- Assist with newborn transition and initial assessments
- Work independently while maintaining strong team communication
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license (Texas)
- NRP, BLS, ACLS, and EFM certifications
- Strong, independent L&D clinical skills
- Experience with labor management
Preferred Experience
- Device placement (IUPC, FSE)
- Newborn transition protocols
Unit Details
- Night shift staffing: 1 charge nurse, 1 surgical tech, 4 RNs
- AWHONN-standard patient ratios
- Floating to other units as needed
- Dress code: Royal Blue or OR scrubs
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
