Emergency Department RN — Night Shift | Asheville, NC

This 6-week contract places you in a fast-paced Emergency Department serving a highly diverse, multicultural community. The unit manages a broad spectrum of acuity — from medical cases to behavioral health holds — and is known for its collaborative, team-oriented culture.

Shift & Schedule

• 18:45–07:15 (4 x 12 nights)
• 48 hours guaranteed per week
• Every other weekend required; block scheduling is not available
• Flexibility to work all sections within the ED is expected; no floating outside the department

Orientation

• 4-hour facility orientation followed by an 8-hour on-unit shift

Required Certifications (all required before start date unless noted)

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC (within 90 days of hire)

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an emergency department setting
• Experience in a high-acuity ED, comprehensive stroke care, or trauma environment strongly preferred
• Strong teamwork mentality with the ability to coach peers and provide real-time feedback
• Comfort working across all sections of the ED

Clinical Environment

• Patient population includes medical, behavioral health, and stroke cases
• Techs support cardiac monitoring, internal processing, and functions
• Patient experience standards include AIDET, real-time communication, and board updates throughout each visit

Dress Code

• RNs: All navy, all white, or a combination of navy and white scrubs
