Emergency Department Nurse
Position Overview
Join the Emergency Department as a Registered Nurse on an 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM shift. This is a 9-week contract with 36 guaranteed hours per week, with the option to work 48 hours. Four positions are available.
About the Role
You'll deliver comprehensive emergency care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment. The ED handles over 60,000 patients annually and manages trauma cases, stroke patients, and critical emergencies. You'll work alongside physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and support staff to provide high-quality emergency services.
Responsibilities & Scope
- Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity setting
- Float to other units and hospitals as needed
- Participate in trauma and stroke protocols
Requirements
- License: Registered Nurse (Alabama state or compact; no temp licenses)
- Education: Associate degree in nursing
- Certifications: AHA ACLS, AHA BLS, AHA PALS, NIHOR RED CROSS, TNCC (SECURE on-site training provided)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years as an RN (18 months considered with highest-level professional license); 2 years recent specialty experience required
