Inpatient Med/Surg Oncology RN — Night Shift | Morgantown, WV

This 13-week contract (with extension potential) places you on an inpatient oncology unit that also accommodates med/surg overflow. The unit manages adult and geriatric oncology patients across a range of diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, brain, and hematologic cancers, with a focus on active treatment and symptom management.

Shift & Schedule

• 4x12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekdays with every other weekend required
• Blocked scheduling available

Clinical Scope

• Chemotherapy administration (IV push, continuous infusion, oral)
• Central line, PICC, and implanted port access and care
• Blood and blood product administration
• Neutropenic precautions, infusion pump management
• PCA pump management, wound care, and post-surgical care
• Recognition and management of oncologic emergencies (tumor lysis, anaphylaxis, spinal cord compression, sepsis)

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years RN experience
• Active WV or Compact RN license (pending accepted for submission)
• Required: BLS and ACLS (AHA only), NIHSS
• Preferred: ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification; charge nurse experience
• IV start skills required
• Permanent address 100+ miles from the facility required

Additional Details

• Scrubs: Burgundy and/or white (not provided)
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Attendance expectations are firm: no more than 2–3 call-offs per contract
