Medical-Surgical Telemetry — Night Shift | Charlotte, NC
This pulmonary-focused Med-Surg Telemetry unit cares for adults and geriatric patients with complex respiratory and general medical needs, including COPD, asthma, tracheostomy, and prolonged length-of-stay presentations. The unit manages non-ventilated respiratory support up to BiPAP/CPAP and chest tube care, with interdisciplinary support from respiratory therapy, physical therapy, IV teams, rapid response, and pharmacy.
Contract Details
- Start Date: October 12, 2026
- Duration: 19 weeks (contract runs through February 27, 2027)
- Shift: Nights, 3×12 | 18:45–07:15
- Location: Charlotte, NC
Schedule & Expectations
- Self-scheduling, balanced by leadership based on unit needs
- Weekend requirement: 6 weekend shifts (3 weekends) every 6 weeks
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays; no RTO during the first week
- Up to 7 days RTO pre-approved (holidays excluded); no additional RTO requests after signing
- Floating required within the service line as needed
- No on-call requirement
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg/Telemetry experience
- Active NC or Compact RN license (pending license acceptable at submission)
- BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start
- Strong skills in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, non-invasive airway management, peripheral line care, and isolation/PPE protocols
Clinical Skills — Preferred
- Telemetry monitoring experience
- Tracheostomy and chest tube management
- BiPAP/CPAP oxygen delivery
Scrubs: Navy blue and white, any combination — not provided by facility
