Night Shift IMCU RN – Cardiac/Telemetry

Shift & Schedule

Night shift, 3×12 hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Typically every other weekend; maximum 7 days RTO per contract

Rare call with 2-hour response time

About the Role

You'll work in an overflow intermediate care unit managing adult and geriatric patients with cardiac and medical/surgical complexity. This is a high-acuity environment requiring strong drip management, arrhythmia recognition, and hemodynamic monitoring skills.

Clinical Scope

  • Cardiac arrhythmia management (stable A-Fib, SVT, Bradycardia) and cardioversion
  • Cardiac drips: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin (management and titration)
  • Vasoactive drip management (no titration)
  • Diuretics (Bumex, Lasix) and anticoagulants (Aggrastat, Argatroban, Heparin)
  • Insulin drip titration
  • Post-cardiac catheterization care with TR Band management
  • CHF, chest pain, renal and pulmonary conditions (COPD, pulmonary edema), PE/DVT, and DKA
  • Surgical overflow (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, chest tubes, biliary drains)
  • Occasional vascular, orthopedic, and CVA overflow (transferred to appropriate units promptly)

Requirements

  • 2+ years RN experience required; prior travel experience mandatory
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification
  • Georgia or Compact license
  • Telemetry competency exam required
  • Strong foundation in basic arrhythmia knowledge and hemodynamic monitoring

Unit Details

  • Navy blue scrubs
  • Within-facility floating to similar units as needed
  • Full compliance documentation due prior to start
