Night Shift RN – ED Holding Support
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced RN for its ED Holding unit, a fast-paced area within the Emergency Department where patients await inpatient bed placement. You'll manage diverse adult medical and surgical diagnoses, including high-acuity and PCU-level patients, with flexibility to float to ED and medical-surgical areas as needed.
Schedule & Contract
- Shift: Night, 3×12-hour (18:45–07:15)
- Contract: 13+ weeks through February 27, 2027
- Weekends: Every other weekend required
- Orientation: 12 hours
- RTO: Up to 7 days auto-approved (pre-approval required; cannot request additional RTO after signing)
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years recent nursing experience; travel experience required
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS
- Skills: MS/Tele, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring (unit and remote), blood product administration, PICC and central line management, phlebotomy, feeding tube and colostomy care, renal failure management, high-flow nasal cannula, CPAP/BiPAP, tracheostomy care, chest tube management, ABG interpretation, IV starts, and use of Rapid Response Teams
- Preferred: NIHSS, CPI, IV insulin protocols, pre/post-hemodialysis management, neuro and ortho trauma experience, wound care
- Pre-start requirement: EKG testing within 48 hours of signing
- Vaccines: Flu required (medical/religious exemptions considered); COVID-19 not required

- All staff assigned to Storm/Hurricane Team; may be required to report during catastrophic events
- Navy scrubs
- Locals within 50 miles accepted (rate difference applies)
