NICU RN – Level III/IV | Night Shift | Lubbock, TX

Contract Details

  • Shift: Nights, 3×12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Contract Duration: 26 weeks (longer contracts considered)
  • Start Date: October 19, 2026

The Unit

This high-acuity NICU cares exclusively for neonates across a broad clinical spectrum, including premature infants, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, sepsis, hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), and complex surgical cases spanning all subspecialties. The unit operates at a Level III/IV acuity, managing some of the most medically complex neonatal patients.

Clinical Skills Required

Candidates must be proficient in a wide range of neonatal competencies, including ventilator management, high-frequency oscillation, nitric oxide therapy, bubble CPAP, therapeutic hypothermia, UAC/UVC care, arterial line management, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, chest tube management, and tracheostomy care, among others.

Schedule & Expectations

  • 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling period (self-scheduling)
  • Block scheduling required
  • Float to pediatric/PICU/pediatric ED on a PRN basis; float to nearby sister facilities may also be required
  • No on-call required
  • Must commit to 3 of 5 designated holidays
  • All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of application

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of NICU experience; Level III experience strongly preferred
  • Active compact RN license in hand at time of submission
  • Certifications: BLS, Advanced NRP
  • 2 professional references covering the past 3 years
