Day Shift | 13-Week Contract (Extensions Available)
This Level III/IV NICU opportunity is ideal for experienced neonatal nurses looking for a challenging, high-acuity assignment. The unit manages a complex neonatal population including premature infants, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, sepsis, hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), and surgical patients across all subspecialties except cardiac.
Shift & Schedule
- Days, 3×12-hour shifts (07:00–19:00)
- 26-week contract; longer extensions welcomed
- Self-scheduling with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
- Must commit to 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Float to sister facilities may be required; refusal may affect guaranteed hours
Clinical Scope
Nurses will manage high-acuity neonates utilizing skills including:
- Ventilator management (HFV, oscillators, nitric oxide, bubble CPAP, HFNC)
- UAC/UVC care, arterial line and invasive hemodynamic monitoring
- Therapeutic hypothermia, ICP monitoring, chest tube management
- Surgical neonates (gastroschisis, omphalocele, NEC, post-abdominal surgery)
- Phototherapy, neonatal abstinence syndrome, sepsis workup, and more
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years NICU experience; Level III experience strongly preferred
- Active compact RN license (must be in hand at submission)
- Certifications: BLS, NRP
- 12-hour orientation provided
