NICU RN — Night Shift | Lubbock, TX | 26-Week Contract

This opportunity is in a pediatric-focused facility's NICU, caring exclusively for neonatal patients across a high-acuity unit. The unit manages a broad range of diagnoses including prematurity, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, sepsis, hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), and surgical cases across all subspecialties except cardiac.

Shift & Schedule

  • Nights, 3×12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • 26-week contract (longer contracts considered)
  • Self-scheduling with block schedule required
  • 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling period
  • Must commit to 3 of 5 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • No on-call required

Float Requirement

Travelers may float to nearby sister facilities. Refusal to float may impact guaranteed hours.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of NICU experience; Level III experience strongly preferred
  • Active compact RN license in hand at time of submission
  • Certifications: BLS, NRP Advanced
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Clinical Skills

  • Ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), high-frequency ventilation, bubble CPAP, nitric oxide, therapeutic hypothermia
  • Arterial lines, UAC/UVC, central line care, invasive hemodynamic monitoring
  • APGAR scoring, neonatal dosage calculations, sepsis workup, phlebotomy, phototherapy
  • Surgical neonatal care, tracheostomy management, chest tube management
