NICU Registered Nurse — Travel Contract

Santa Rosa, CA | 13-Week Contract | Nights

This Level III NICU travel opportunity is ideal for experienced neonatal nurses ready to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The unit cares for neonates from 27 weeks gestational age and above, with all-age stabilization coverage at delivery.

Shift & Schedule

• 4x12-hour night shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Self-scheduling
• Weekends required
• On-call may be required
• Must commit to 3 of 5 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2-week period

Clinical Scope

• Attend high-risk, preterm, and meconium deliveries; perform neonatal resuscitation in OR and delivery settings — candidates must be able to attend deliveries and perform admissions
• Manage UAC/UVC lines, arterial lines, chest tubes, and bubble CPAP
• Administer surfactants, steroids, insulin, and blood products
• Perform sepsis workups, phlebotomy, and neonatal dosage calculations
• Support breastfeeding, developmental care, and family education
• Collaborate with respiratory, pharmacy, social services, and interpretation teams

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year NICU experience; Level III experience required
• Active compact RN license (must be in hand at submission)
• Certifications: BLS, NRP
• No travel pairs; first-time travelers welcome
• Locals (within 50 miles) accepted
