Medical-Surgical Nurse – Atlanta, GA

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Medical-Surgical nurse for a 13-week contract assignment. You'll work day shifts in a unit that blends complex patient care with research activities.

Shift & Schedule

• 3 × 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Morning shift schedule

Clinical Scope

Approximately 14 days per month, you'll support a research unit conducting a flu challenge study (administering flu virus to healthy volunteer subjects and monitoring for symptom development). For the remainder of the month, you'll deliver care on a complex medical unit managing:

• Sepsis and complicated infections (UTI, ia)
• Tracheostomy care
• PEG tube management
• Altered mental status
• Pancreatitis
• Peritoneal dialysis patients

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Current RN license
• Tracheostomy care experience
• NIHSS certification
• IV starts and PICC line placement
• Strong medical-surgical nursing foundation

Preferred Qualifications

• Peritoneal dialysis experience
