Psychiatric Nurse / Mental Health Technician
Shift: 19:00–07:00 (nights) | Duration: 13 weeks | Start: September 28, 2026

About the Role
The facility operates five psychiatric units serving adolescents, adults, and seniors across a range of acuity levels. You will work in a fast-paced inpatient setting providing direct patient care, crisis intervention, and therapeutic support.
Clinical Scope
- Assess mental health status and recognize signs of psychiatric disorders, substance use, and behavioral issues
- Develop and implement individualized care plans
- Administer and monitor psychiatric medications for side effects and adverse reactions
- Provide crisis intervention using de-escalation techniques
- Build therapeutic relationships through active listening, empathy, and clear communication
- Monitor vital signs and track mental status changes throughout your shift
Unit Details
You may float across units based on facility needs. Patient populations include:
- Adolescents (ages 12–18)
- Adults with thought disorder diagnoses and lower-acuity psychiatric conditions
- Senior patients
Requirements
- Current BLS and CPI certifications (required at submission)
- Knowledge of psychotropic medications
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, seven days a week, including weekends
- Days off not guaranteed unless specified in contract
