Stepdown Unit – Travel Nursing Position

Position Overview

The facility is seeking experienced RNs for its stepdown unit. This is a 18-week contract with the option to extend to 13 weeks. You'll provide care for patients transitioning from critical care, managing moderate acuity cases and monitoring for complications.

Shift & Schedule

• 3x12-hour rotating shifts (Day: 07:00–19:30 | Night: 19:00–07:30)
• Shifts may rotate as needed to meet operational demands
• Must work at least every other holiday

Floating

You may float to other units within the facility to care for the same patient population, providing flexibility across the hospital system.

Requirements

• License: Permanent Ohio license or valid compact state license in hand at time of submission
• Experience: Minimum 12 months of permanent RN experience in stepdown or progressive care (PCU experience preferred but not required)
• Certifications: Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Professional Reference: One reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director within the past 12 months (no peer references)
• Background Check: Clean background screening with no open cases or license hits

Orientation

You'll complete facility-specific modules (6–15 hours) and pass assessments in ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety (two attempts permitted).
