Emergency Department RN — Travel Contract
Asheville, NC | Nights (18:45–07:15) | 4×12 | 6-Week Contract
This busy Emergency Department serves a highly diverse, multicultural community and is known for strong teamwork and a welcoming unit culture. The department manages a broad range of acuity levels, including medical emergencies, behavioral health holds, and complex trauma and stroke cases.
Schedule & Hours
- Night shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- 4×12-hour shifts per week; 48 hours guaranteed
- Every other weekend required
- No block scheduling; scheduling must meet departmental needs
Float Requirements
Candidates must be open to floating within all sections of the ED; no floating outside the department.
Orientation
4-hour hospital orientation followed by an 8-hour floor shift.
Scrub Color
All navy, all white, or a combination of navy and white.
Required Certifications (all required before start date unless noted)
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
- ENPC within 90 days of hire
Minimum Qualifications
- 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year in an emergency department setting
- Experience in a high-volume ED with comprehensive stroke capabilities preferred
- Strong teamwork mentality; ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
- Flexibility to work all areas of the ED
