Respiratory Therapist – Travel Contract | Weirton, WV

13-Week Contract | 12-Hour Nights | 36 Hours Guaranteed per Week

This acute care respiratory therapy position covers a broad clinical scope across inpatient and outpatient settings, caring for adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations (neonates seen in ER and pediatric settings only — no NICU).

Areas of Coverage

• Inpatient: Med-Surg, PCU, ICU
• Emergency Department, PACU, Rehab, SNF, Endo, Cath Lab
• Outpatient ABGs and 6-minute walk tests

Clinical Responsibilities

• Breathing treatments (averaging 90–100 per day across the department)
• ABG draws and capillary sticks for I-Stats
• Respiratory equipment management and monitoring
• Assist with intubations (independent intubation not required)

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour nights: 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM
• 4-week rotating schedule; no self-scheduling
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation participation possible; scheduling requests considered
• No on-call requirement

Required Credentials

• RRT (via NBRC); CRT accepted if grandfathered by the WV Board of Respiratory Care
• BLS and ACLS (AHA)
• WV CARES completion required prior to start

Experience

• 3–4 years preferred; first-time travelers considered

Additional Details

• Orientation: 1–3 preceptor shifts as needed
• Scrub color: Teal (acceptable scrub pattern shirts permitted)
• Supervisor/Director on-site Monday–Friday; Charge RT coverage all other shifts
• Candidate must reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Valid driver's license copy required at submission
