Trauma Nurse Lead – Emergency Department
Position Overview
Join the emergency department as a Trauma Nurse Lead, providing critical care during the primary and secondary survey phase of trauma activation. This is a fast-paced role requiring strong clinical judgment, leadership presence, and ability to perform under pressure.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekends: Required
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Clinical Scope
You'll manage patients presenting with acute trauma and critical injuries. Your responsibilities include:
- IV placement and strong IV access management
- Mass transfusion protocol execution
- Spinal stabilization and splinting
- Assisting with chest tube placement and other emergency bedside procedures
- Central and arterial line placement support
- Traction management
- OR assistance as needed
Required Qualifications
- Current TNCC certification (mandatory)
- ACLS, BLS, PALS
- Strong trauma and ED nursing experience
- Excellent critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills
- Ability to thrive in high-stress, high-acuity environments
Preferred
- ENPC certification
