RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Med-Surg Float
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Contract Duration: 13 weeks

About the Role
The facility is seeking an experienced RN to support its Progressive Care Unit and Medical-Surgical units. You'll care for moderate-acuity patients transitioning from ICU or at risk of clinical deterioration—requiring closer monitoring than standard Med-Surg but below ICU intensity.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to cardiac, medical, orthopedic, and neurological patients
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; identify and respond to changes in condition
- Administer medications, including select IV drips, per physician orders
- Assess patients and manage those transitioning from higher levels of care
- Respond to rapid response and code interventions as needed
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on the plan of care
- Educate patients and families on condition, treatment, and recovery
- Manage a moderate patient load (typically 3–4 patients per facility guidelines)
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation, infection control, and fall prevention protocols
Requirements
- Active RN license (Colorado or compact license)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- 1+ years of PCU/step-down experience
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and reading cardiac strips
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
- PCCN certification preferred
Schedule & Float Expectations
- Every other weekend and holiday rotation per unit needs
- Float support required across PCU and Med-Surg units as needed to support staffing
