Medical/Surgical RN – Travel Contract | Salem, VA

This 13-week travel assignment places you on a busy Med/Surg unit managing post-operative patients in a fast-paced inpatient environment. The unit is well-staffed with clinical coordinators, RNs, and support technicians on both day and night shifts.

Shift & Schedule

• Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week

Clinical Scope

The unit focuses on post-operative care, with daily responsibilities including:

• Management of surgical drains
• Wound care and dressing changes
• IV therapy and patient monitoring
• Advocacy and education for post-surgical patients and families

Requirements

• Active RN license
• BLS certification (required)
• Experience with post-operative patients strongly preferred
• Proficiency in wound care, dressing changes, and drain management preferred

Dress Code

Navy blue or white scrubs; no hoodies, pullovers, or t-shirts.
