Registered Nurse – Emergency Department
Shift: 3rd shift, 3×12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Duration: 13-week contract

About the Role
Join the emergency department as a Registered Nurse, providing rapid assessment and care to patients across a wide spectrum of emergent and urgent conditions. You'll work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment where clinical judgment, composure, and collaboration are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- and assess incoming patients; prioritize care based on acuity
- Perform rapid, comprehensive nursing assessments and implement evidence-based interventions
- Respond to trauma activations, codes, and acute deterioration with appropriate emergency care
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures per physician orders and unit protocols
- Monitor patients awaiting admission, transfer, or discharge; maintain efficient patient flow
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and the interdisciplinary team on plan of care
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record
- Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
- Maintain infection control, patient safety, and de-escalation standards
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
- BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS required
- Minimum 1+ year of emergency department nursing experience
- Demonstrated ability to function in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and clinical assessment skills
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN degree
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) certification
- Experience with protocols and trauma patients
