Neuro RN – 12-Hour Nights | Morgantown, WV

Contract: 13 weeks | Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Guaranteed Hours: 36/week

This neurological unit cares for a diverse patient population with conditions including stroke, seizures, deep brain stimulator (DBS) management, surgical and post-operative spine cases, and a broad range of neurological disorders.

Shift & Scheduling

• Full-time nights; weekends and holidays required
• Night shift weekend commitment: Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday (alternating or 3 weekend shifts per schedule)
• Travelers should expect to work into the holiday rotation
• Scheduling allows up to 3 consecutive shifts, though not guaranteed — flexibility is essential

Clinical Environment

• Charge Nurse support available 24/7
• Nurse aides present each shift
• Telemetry on unit; RNs verify monitor tech strip readings (no independent strip-reading required)
• Respiratory therapy available around the clock; floor vents are managed by RT and physicians — no independent vent management required
• Titration performed per physician order and established protocols

Required Skills & Certifications

• Strong, recent neurological nursing experience
• G-tube proficiency required
• NIHSS certification — must be in hand at time of submission
• BLS (AHA) required
• ACLS preferred

Additional Details

• Float potential to other medical-surgical units as needed
• One on-unit orientation shift provided
• Scrub color: any combination of white and royal blue
• Cancellation policy: up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• BSN not required; active RN license required prior to start
