Cardiac Telemetry / PCU Travel RN — Greensboro, NC
Contract: 13 weeks | Shift: Days, 3×12-hour shifts (07:00–19:30) | Start: October 2026
This step-down/telemetry unit focuses primarily on cardiac patients, with a secondary emphasis on respiratory conditions. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics presenting with Congestive Heart Failure, Acute Coronary Syndrome, rule-out MI, NSTEMI, arrhythmias, Respiratory Failure, COPD, and ia.
Schedule & Float
- Every other weekend required; holidays as needed
- Floating to other campus locations required as needed
- Six weekend shifts per contract
Required Certifications
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Required Clinical Skills
- Cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Titration of cardiac drips and IV insulin protocols
- BiPAP/CPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) management
- Central line care, CVP monitoring, and TR Band use
- Blood product administration and pre/post cardiac cath care
- Pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
- ABG interpretation and feeding tube management
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience; cardiac telemetry experience required
- Prior charge experience preferred; first-time travelers welcome
- Active RN license in hand at time of submission
- EKG competency exam required (2 attempts allowed)
- No candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility
- COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
Orientation: 24 hours, plus unit-based non-billable modules (approximately 2–4 hours)
