Registered Nurse – Birthing Unit, Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its birthing unit on the night shift (7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.). This is a 13-week contract assignment in South Weymouth, MA.
Schedule Options
Choose the schedule that works best for you:
- 36 hours/week: Three 12-hour shifts
- 40 hours/week: Two 12-hour shifts + two 8-hour shifts
- 48 hours/week: Available upon request
Clinical Scope
You'll provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients, newborns, and postpartum families. Responsibilities include patient assessment, labor support, fetal monitoring, and assisting with deliveries. You'll work collaboratively with OB/GYN physicians, midwives, and neonatal teams to ensure safe, family-centered care during one of life's most meaningful moments.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in obstetrics
- Circulating experience is required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
- Recent EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certification at intermediate level or higher
Preferred Certifications
- ALSO (Advanced Life Support for Obstetrics)
- Perinatal NCC Certification (Maternal Newborn Nursing or Inpatient Obstetric Nursing)
- First Latch (breastfeeding certification)
