Acute Care / Neuro Stepdown RN — Night Shift

Nashville, TN | 13-Week Contract | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

This combined Acute Care and Neuro Stepdown unit offers a clinically rich environment for nurses looking to expand their neurological and stepdown skills. The unit manages stroke patients alongside higher-acuity stepdown cases, making it an excellent bridge for RNs aspiring to move into critical care.

Unit Overview

• Acute Care side focuses on stroke care, including high-flow oxygen therapy, chest tubes, suction, and various drip management
• Neuro Stepdown side manages patients requiring BiPAP, tracheostomy care, and titrating cardiac drips
• Common procedures include lumbar puncture and chest tube placement
• Supported by a charge RN, 1–2 techs, and a unit secretary

Schedule & Requirements

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Weekend shifts required
• Experienced nurses may float after orientation

Required Certifications

• BLS (Acute Care)
• BLS and ACLS (Neuro Stepdown)

Candidate Profile

• Strong acute care nursing skills and time management are essential
• Stepdown experience preferred for the Neuro Stepdown side
• Advanced critical thinking and the ability to manage a varied patient population

Dress Code

• Black, any shade of blue or grey; any color scrubs on Fridays
