Progressive Care RN — Cardiac/Thoracic Unit | Englewood, CO

13-Week Travel Contract | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 36 Hours Guaranteed

This is a fast-paced, high-acuity Progressive Care Unit specializing in cardiac and thoracic surgery patients. The unit manages a complex patient population requiring intermediate-level monitoring and hands-on procedural care.

Clinical Scope

• Post-cath care: right & left heart caths, TAVRs, ablations, Watchman procedures, pacemaker implantations, TR band management, neurovascular checks
• Post-thoracic surgery: VATs/RATs, resections, lobectomies, chest tube management
• Pre & post care for open-heart surgical patients: CABGs, MVRs, AVRs, aortic dissection repairs
• Vascular surgery post-op care
• Cardiac drip management: heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, dobutamine, milrinone, ketamine
• O2 management up to BiPAP and heated high-flow

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of current PCU hospital experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification

Preferred Skills

• Chest tube management and removal
• Pacer wire management and removal
• 12-lead EKG interpretation
• Experience with cardiac vasoactive drips
