Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Cardiac ICU nurse for its specialized cardiac care unit. You'll provide post-operative care for patients recovering from open heart, vascular, and thoracic surgeries in a highly specialized setting.
Schedule & Contract
- 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- 12x3 format
- 36 guaranteed hours weekly
- 13-week contract
- Holiday expectations: You must work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve).
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac ICU experience
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- CCRN and NIH certification (preferred)
Clinical Scope
You'll work with advanced cardiac support devices including intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impella devices, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and epicardial pacemakers. The unit manages complex post-operative patients requiring specialized hemodynamic monitoring and interventions.
