Cardiac Telemetry / PCU — Travel RN | Des Moines, IA
Nights | 13-Week Contract
This cardiac telemetry unit cares for a high-acuity cardiac population including patients with rhythm disturbances, heart failure, acute MI, post-CCL recovery, and medical/surgical overflow. The unit uses continuous telemetry tech monitoring and routinely manages vasoactive and cardiac drips including nitroglycerin, nicardipine, heparin, diltiazem, and dopamine.
Schedule
- Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 3x12s, 36 hrs/week
- Every 3rd weekend required
- Holiday rotation: must work 1–2 of the 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
- No on-call requirement
Float Requirement
Travelers float across multiple campuses as needed.
Scrubs: Navy blue, solid
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 24 months of current Telemetry/Cardiac, Stepdown, or Progressive Care RN experience
- Experience with ICD and pacemaker patient populations
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation experience
- Cardiac drip titration experience
- Level II trauma experience (Level I preferred)
- Active Iowa RN license or multistate compact license (verified in Nursys at submission)
- BLS and ACLS — AHA or ARC
- Valid driver's license
First-Time Travelers: Accepted with a minimum of 12 months of Med/Tele, Cardiac/Tele, or PCU experience.
